The mission of the organization is to provide opportunities and stability to at-risk veterans in Wyoming, by integrating support services, providing potential employment opportunities, and building a veteran home community.
“For many Veterans experiencing homelessness, moving into permanent housing is the first step toward the stability and independence they deserve,” VA Secretary Denis McDonough
Founded in 2020, Veteran Village - AMNACS is here to fill a need.
We will provide a “next step” between group living and being completely on their own - the goal is to reduce relapse in substance abuse, reduce veteran suicide and promote self-purpose through volunteerism. We will be building 50 small homes for at-risk Veterans in Sheridan County. Each home will be equipped with a pet door and yard for service animals. Additionally, the homes will be situated in pods, so while the veterans will have independent living, neighbors are close for support and assistance. We have land! It is located in Parkman and will be the "test site" as we build 5 units. Once we prove the concept, we hope to move to a larger space for all 50 units.
According to The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), approximately 40,056 veterans are homeless on any given night.
